Sloane manages to cross the Parapet with a little help from Violet Sorrengail in regards to her hair. Sloane makes it obvious that she hates Violet from the start, thinking she is the reason why her brother is dead.
She challenges Violet on the mat but Violet doesn’t weaver. She continues to help Sloane even if she refuses Violet’s (and Imogen’s) help. Eventually, Violet blackmails Sloane into accepting help from Imogen in exchange for getting letters from her brother, which, Violet kept.
Sloane stops hating Violet and eventually comes around, learning how her brother really didn’t hate Violet, but actually really liked her.
Sloane bonds a red daggertail, the same as her brother. She manifests her signet in Iron Flame, and she is a siphon.
At the end of the battle of Basgiath, Sloane plays a crucial role—Violet nearly burns out during the imbuing of the wardstone, and it’s clear that her powers aren’t strong enough for it. Lilith Sorrengail convinces and forces Sloane to use her siphon signet, channeling Lilith’s and Aimsir’s life power into the wardstone, thereby enabling the wards to be raised. Lilith dies. Sloane blames herself for this, refusing to train her signet in OS. However, at the end of OS, she once again plays an important role—she uses her signet to channel power from Dain to Brennan, giving him the strength to mend and save Mira. Throughout OS, a very slow, subtle, but undeniable relationship develops between Sloane and Dain, which beautifully mirrors the relationship between Violet and Xaden in Fourth Wing.
Physical Appearance
She’s strong, quick and has good balance. Sloane has the same beautiful sky-blue eyes as her brother. She has blonde hair. Sloane is 3 inches taller than Violet Sorrengail.
Sloane’s gaze snaps to mine, and that’s all it takes.
“You don’t have to do anything but stand there,” my mother promises somewhere in the distance. “Your signet will take over for you. Think of yourself as nothing more than a conduit for power. You’re simply facilitating mine flowing into the stone.Iron Flame, CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR
“Eyes here,” Dain says, and Sloane looks his way. “Pull from the excess you feel in me, and push to the deficit in him.
You’re not a weapon of destruction. You’re not venin. You’re the artery power chooses to flow through. You’re life.”
Her brow knits, and Dain flinches. “I’m going to hurt you.”
“Gods, don’t I know it.” He nods. “But you’re not going to kill me, no matter how badly you want to. Now do it.”
Her mouth tightens, and Dain grits his teeth.Onyx Storm, CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE
