The blurb for Onyx Storm has arrived!!! And I’m so so excited about it. Rebecca Yarros has just posted it on her instagram and I cannot believe that we’re getting more crumbs about Onyx Storm.

What do you think about it? And yes, the blurb pretty much confirmed Violet’s second signet. This is incredible because we’ve been talking about it for…well..almost a year now!

My take on the Onyx Storm blurb

So? I keep reading it over and over and it’s so obvious to me that the – And they need the one thing only Violet can find—the truth. – our Violet is a truth sayer. More terrifying than an inntinnsic is a truth sayer, and yet we let them live.

It’s finally clear (to me) that she is a truth sayer! Read on and let me know what you think!

There are confirmed venin within the ranks

We kinda thought Aetos is venin somehow or maybe even others. We also thought that Lilith is venin (I still hold it, and you can’t change my mind).

But I think, with Xaden as an inntinnsic and Violet as a truth sayer, we have the dream team to find out WHO to trust.

New allies, beyond Navarre

Could it be Poromiel? For sure. But I also think they are going to venture beyond, to the old allies on the isles.

Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre.

As you see, there are unfamiliar lands. So I really am thinking that we need to go to a new place on the map. And yes, that brings me to the next point: I think Onyx Storm will have a bigger map!

Onyx Storm is about the adventure of travel

The blurb does say that Violet’s trip will test EVERYTHING. I think we’re going to have an epic adventure in this book.And because of this, I am not sure we will be able to save Xaden in Onyx Storm. I think they will be again, separated for long times. I think Xaden will stay in Aretia and Violet will go, with her dragons, to the isles, for…something.

They need magic

Wait…wait a second. What does it mean, we need magic? So far we’ve had talk about power, signet, armies. But we never used the word magic. What can this possibly mean?

Buckle up, we’re going to lose some characters

Storm at sea? Storm between Tairn and Xaden? Xaden’s internal struggle? Venin coming for them all?

I guess we won’t know until we get more teasers and more blurbs. But one thing is for certain, we will lose more beloved characters and we’re absolutely not ready! This is the time when I want to start a hashtag bringLiamback.
