It’s inaccurate to say Andarna’s coloring is pearlescent. That’s only used to describe the power she channels to Violet. First she’s golden, then appears black, and is ultimately revealed as a seventh den (color) altogether. However it’s never specifically stated what color she is, merely that she can change colors like a chameleon.
I mean, I hear you. This is a test related to Iron Flame, we cannot predict if her colour is a solid colour which might be revealed in Book 3. Given that we are reading Iron Flame from Violet’s perspective, we have to go with what we know so far.
In Fourth Wing she was reaching to Andarna via her golden bond from “her mental Archives”. Now that bond is pearlescent. Which is a very strong indication of Andarna’s colour. Pearlescent is pearl-like in either color or luster, while iridescence produces a display of lustrous, prismatic and rainbow-like colors.
