It appears to be an instructional manual focused on guiding cadets in the Scribe Quadrant at Basgiath War College. The book emphasizes the importance of the Archives.

In Onyx Storm we find out that Colonel Daxton was related to Violet and her father, Asher Daxton. Currently, it is believed that Colonel Daxton’s first name is Niara.

There is nothing more sacred than the Archives. Even temples can be rebuilt, but books cannot be rewritten.

All tome requests at the Archives of Basgiath must be recorded and filed. Any cadet who fails to do so will be reported for dereliction of duty, as well as punished for the loss of any text they fail to accurately track.
