Dear Empyrean Riders community,
I want to take a moment to thank you so much for your continued support. You reading the articles, leaving messages and comments, emailing me questions and theories, and just being here with me — and for me — has meant more than you could ever imagine. It’s been my lifeline.
So why did Empyrean Riders seem to disappear from one day to the next? I feel like I owe you a little explanation. I’ve actually moved abroad. A few months ago, I took the big step of moving to my favorite country in the world — something that took me roughly ten years to make happen. To say it hasn’t been easy is an understatement.
Apartment hunting, changing jobs, dealing with visas, trying to make new connections, more apartment hunting, more visa stuff, more work. It’s been amazing and hella difficult at the same time. Most nights I’ve ended up flat on the floor, staring at the ceiling, wanting to read books but not having the energy. In a way, I completely understand how Violet felt in her first year at the war college — training, studying, socializing, trying not to die… falling asleep with her boots and mascara still on. (Don’t worry, I mostly managed my skincare routine. I’m not getting any younger, after all.)
I’m a bit ashamed to admit that I haven’t read a single book in the past six months. I’ve been in full zombie mode. But no more. I miss Empyrean so much. I miss you all so much. And I think it’s time to get back in the game.
So here’s my pledge and promise to you: starting in December, I’ll be posting my read-alongs again, sharing new theories I’ve been mulling over these past few months, and continuing the conversations we love. I’ll also be first to bring you the latest Empyrean theories and news.
Thank you for sticking around — and here’s to a 2026 full of Empyrean Riders, dragons, and badass riders like you.
With love, Cory
