Exciting news for fans of Rebecca Yarros’ bestselling Empyrean series—her hit fantasy novels are set to be adapted into graphic novels through a six-book deal with Ten Speed Graphic (TSG), Piaktus, and Entangled Publishing. This collaboration will bring the world of Fourth Wing, Iron Flame, and the upcoming Onyx Storm to life in a visually stunning format. And WE are sooooo excited!
Yarros, known for her compelling storytelling and intricate fantasy world-building, will be directly involved in adapting her work for the graphic novel medium. Which is amazing, because we are excited to see the characters just as she’d imagined them!
She will work alongside a team of comics creators, yet to be announced, to ensure that the adaptations stay true to her original vision. I truly hope she will pick a company from Japan, as they truly are the masters of manga!
A Collaborative Effort to Expand the Empyrean Universe
The deal was secured by TSG editorial director Kaitlin Ketchum, who acquired world rights from Entangled and Yarros, with Nicole Resciniti of Alliance Rights Agency representing Entangled and the Fury Agency’s Louise Fury acting on behalf of Yarros. Piaktus, the British publisher of the Empyrean series, has obtained UK and Commonwealth rights, while TSG will oversee foreign and translation sales, with Rachel Berkowitz, director of subsidiary rights at Crown, managing those deals.
While the release date for the first volume is yet to be announced, fans can expect an immersive adaptation that captures the essence of the books while enhancing the reading experience with the power of visual storytelling.
