I know we have some members here who are currently reading Fourth Wing, so I would rather not spoiler it for them.

But you all know what I’m talking about. Be honest, did you cry?

I remember the scene, gosh, I don’t think I will ever forget it:

I was in bed, reading Fourth Wing. I got to the scene and started crying and sobbing. I still do every single time I re-read the book.

I was reading and listening to music and just as the scene happened the song “Bigger Than the Whole Sky” by Taylor Swift started playing and I was balling my eyes out

It was really weird for me because, although I obviously in love with Xaden, I really started developing feelings for Liam. It was a shock, honestly.

Don’t read if you haven’t finished Fourth Wing!

I was on breaking point during the whole scene, and his last four words made me snap. Like, crying on the floor. Liam was so sweet, always at Violet’s side, even though she resented him, resented Xaden for him being with her. He didn’t even get to carve Andrana, even though he wanted to carve her before he did Tairn.

I cried soooooooo much. I was driving and sobbing at a red light and the car next to me was so concerned. 😂😂

Haha, this made my day. Okay, I’m sorry this happened to you, but I can only imagine the situation. I’d be really concerned if someone in the car next to mine were to cry, you know, only to be told, ‘Liam has died!’

I would be like, ‘Oh no, I’m so sorry madam, my condolences, can I call someone for you?’

YESSSSS, Rebecca Yarros! This is a travesty!!

Girl! Me too!! Listening to it was so traumatic. I love Liam and I still can’t believe it.

I accidentally spoiled that scene for myself when I was halfway through the book (ugh this is what happens when you don’t use a bookmark😒) and at that time I didn’t know Liam too well so I was just like oh well. But then as I kept reading I started to really love his character and it was HORRIBLE because I knew he was going to die eventually. When I actually read that scene it wasn’t a shock, but I kinda just sat there for a few minutes, crying and hugging the book. I’m not sure if anyone else does this or it’s just me being weird 😅

Jess, wait, what? Is it weird to hug the book? Is that what people say? I thought that’s just normal. Omg are we weird haha? I do the same. When I travel and read on my kindle I just hug it when there’s a really sad scene. Or grip it when it’s a spice scene.

I was so sad when Liam died, also it was so heart wrenching that it was a slow death, but honestly, I did not cry because if he were not to die then the book would be so fake, like everyone dies left and right and somehow magically all the ppl. in the book that are important to Violet are heroes and they manage to keep escaping death? Like that would not be a reality (even in a fantasy book) like dude this is a war college and they do dangerous stuff so yeah. But I really really enjoy the way Rebbeca brought Liam back in Iron Flame, even if just for a bit, it shows Liam that we didn’t forget him and he still means a lot to us. But why doesn’t the author bring up his sculptures at all in iron flame? I hope she finds a way to bring that up in the third book . I also hope, for everyone’s sake that Liam did Runes in the sculptures….

Ufff I hate to agree with you but yes, it would have felt fake you are right.

I loved reading a little about Liam in iron flame. I also hope to read a little more in book3. I’m just so so connected to him. More so than sawyer weirdly enough.

Fingers crossed we learn a little more about his rune ability!

Oh my gosh, I hadn’t thought about the runes possibly being in his carvings! That would be so wonderful.

I think we will bring him back just as a companion in her dreams or hallucinations 😭

Omg there actually is a thing called third man syndrome where a presence or spirit provides comfort and support in traumatic experiences

Like a baby. I still cry just thinking about it. Violet telling Ri in IF got me sobbing like a baby on my way to work. I just can’t with these. Love Liam so much!!

I know!!! I was reading in my bed at 3 am and my brother thought I was having a stroke because I was crying so much 😭😭

I was lying in bed sobbing!! I couldn’t believe it was him. I figured someone would die in the fight, but never expected Liam. Then cried all over again when he came back to help Violet. 😭 I hadn’t thought of him putting runes in the dragons like some of you mentioned. Hopefully that makes its way into the story. That would another great way to tie him into the story.
