Xaden Riorson, the master of Shadows, or Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court?

    This is really HARD.

Based on looks alone, the way I imagine Xaden, far superior. He’s got that bad boy attitude with his shadows and moods and leathers. He is hot through and through.
But this man has so many red flags, it’s unreal.

Rhys is lovely. He is kind and honest. But maybe it’s the age, or the fact that he can turn into a very large bat, that doesn’t appeal to me as much. Again, personality wise, I feel maybe he is better. Green flags 🙂

But probably because of my age, I would still prefer Xaden. Having said all that, I am team Daddy Nyktos haha.

@RaffaelloDiPaulo who do you like better?

Probably the hardest question of my life, but here it goes…(Keep in mind I am a man)

Xaden I see a bit more…lethal. Hard lined and rough edged. He has some red flags to make him more human, but some of the flags are quite big. The shadows definitely add to his attractiveness. If you keep his character development in mind he definitely is becoming more sensitive and thus more relationship material.

And what he did for Violet at the end of Iron Flame shows how loyal he is. (I want to bash his skull in for what he did, but I can see why he did it.)

Rhysand I see more, elegant. As Feyre described his movements and smile as feline, I see him as a more graceful individual, some hard line but more smooth ones. More cultured, and above all: all powerful. As High Lord of the Night Court, he also commands shadows, and more. But, he is old, and that really makes it harder (pun intended 😉) to choose

So I have to say Xaden. His red flags make him human. Rhys seems a bit too good to be true and as a mere mortal I would eventually die. Not even Rhysand can grant immortality.

OMG this is so ironic but you are so right @RaffaelloDiPaulo

For the fact that he is half bat-like creature, he really is feline in elegance. I was so obsessed with Rhys. In terms of romantansy, he was the first for me. All the fan art, his manners, his intimacy, everything.

But here comes Xaden and I’m just madly in love. So I have to say Xaden.

I love it that despite your gender you feel comfortable talking to us about fantasy books. It’s really cool and refreshing! Glad you picked Xaden!

Yes. It’s refreshing to be able to talk about it here. Thanks to @Cory for making this community!

You are very welcome. I’m trying to really hard to promote this community and grow it in a way that ensures everyone, irrespective of background and gender, feels very safe. I want this to be a nurturing community where we can be ourselves, be able to discuss characters and tastes in books without feeling ashamed. So many times, people make fun of others for liking smut and spicy books and what not. I want to change that!

Currently reading Acotar by the way but I cannot connect with the characters. Is it weird that between the two I’d pick Cassian?

Hi. I’m also reading ACOTAR, (Mist and fury, i’m about 65% of the way) In the beginning I also had a hard time connecting with Feyre especially. If you want to here more about my opinion on it you can read my discussion I started about ACOTAR in the Reading Now forum.

About picking Cassian. If you mean with between the two Azriel or Cassian, then I totally understand your choice. Azriel is a bit depressed, like his personality literally is the shadows. (Not weird is he talks to them more than to living beings) Cassian seems a bit more refreshing in comparison. A few witty comments here and there. Not to say he isn’t deadly, but I do agree he seems more approachable than Az.

    Can i say Ridoc?

Jokes aside (not really though) this is a pretty clear one in my opinion, id choose Rhys. Why? Because hes more chill and laid back, he also has better humor (says nothing since Xaden vad none but still). Xaden is also just a massive red flag and i dont think consistently lying/keeping big stuff for yourself is particularly hot.

Yes, Rhys is old as time but he still looks young right? If hes just old mentally id say it makes him more stable and more uhhh, “experienced” in a lack for other words.

My opinion may be kinda skewed due to being a youngster (and a guy) and therefor not knowing the stuff of romance.

I get it though! I feel strongly about the lies. I really don’t like them. And of course Rhys is mature and amazing.

I think a little bit of both men would be perfect. So I like Xaden’s shadows and the fact that he is non shape-shifting. For some reason, the monster part of Rhys freaks me out. Don’t know why, seriously!

But I prefer Rhys’ mind and kindness.
